My Computer Chair!

[pictures below]

About a week ago, I saw a post on slashdot which showed a guy's custom built computer chair/desk. He like the seats in his Mercedes and wanted to fit one for use with his computer. I was instantly intrigued.

His design was neat, but seemed to be lacking in a few respects. Primarily, it looks impossible to get in and out of! My response to this of course, was to make my own. Although I am a man of means (ha!) I enjoy doing things cheaply, and since I have stopped driving my car, I figured, why not use my own car seat? It's easier than going to the junkyard!

I started by removing the existing passenger seat from my '91 Toyota Camry. It was quite simple, really. Only 4 bolts. I went to the local hardware store, McGuckin's and bought 2 2x4 foot plywood sheets, two 8' 2x4's and some wood screws. After running through designs in my head, and some drilling, measuring, and sitting, I was done!

12 hours and $36.12 was all it took to create this masterpiece!
