Angi and I had made an attempt on Mt. Yale for a winter ascent in December 2003, but were turned back by poor weather and snow conditions. We had made a point to return before the arrival of summer, but did not make the trip until mid May.

We made it a two day trip with a high camp. Angi got her trekking poles eaten, and we experienced some wicked wind and cold near the top. However, the great snow conditions, views, and long descent glissaides made the trip more than worth it.
