My Dad's side of the family, the Hardings had a family reunion at a cabin east of Bakersfield, California. The cabin was built by my great-grandfather through a lease from the Forest Service in the early 1900's.
When my dad was a kid, both his parents were schoolteachers, so his family would spend the entire summer at the cabin. I had never gotten the chance to see it, and was delighted to finally see the place I had heard so much about, White River.
The creek was running very low, so I didn't get the full experience, but I could see this is a wornderful place. We had about 30 Hardings and relatives in attendance which made for a great weekend.
