The Sawtooth.
This dramatic ridge connects Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Evans, both very popular fourteeners. However, these peaks are popular among novices due to their easy access. Mt. Bierstadt has one of the highest trailheads in the state at 11,500'. Mt. Evans has a road to it's summit, the highest paved road in North America.
Angi and I preparing for an ascent of Mt. Whitney's Mountaineers Route on August 9th, so we are seeking out some of the more challenging routes on Colorado's Fourteeners. This route has been on my todo list for a long time, and I was very happy to see Angi up to the challenge. We had a great time, although the weather did not cooperate as much as we had hoped.
