July, 2003:   After our climb of the 2nd Flatiron, Angi and I decided we were prepared for our first somewhat technical route on a Fourteener. We chose the often traveled Kelso Ridge on Torreys Peak. The route is near Boulder, and I am very familiar with the area. After our ascent, we were greeted with huge crowds ascending the standard route from below.

Since climbing fourteeners can be addictive, Angi and I talked someone into climbing their first, April's roommate Sarah. By no small coincidence, I talked April into her first Fourteener as well. We camped at the base of Mt. Bross near Leadville, and hiked up the next day. You can't tell from our smiles, but the wind on the summit was absolutely freezing.
